Q: How much?
A: $175 – for a full Music Together song collection/ semester, which includes weekly classes for your recipient family PLUS the upcoming semester’s beautiful songbook, CD, and access code to get all the music we’ll be using on Music Together’s app and family music zone.
Q: Where and when is the gift card valid?
A: – valid for any semester in 2023 offered by Music Together of Northern Arizona. Our next semester runs January through April 2023, and details can be found on our calendar page. The Sticks collection will be our next semester, and you’ll get a beautiful illustrated songbook, CD and access code to get all the Sticks collection songs playing on all your devices, including CD players.
Q: What does a Music Together “semester” or song collection include?
A: The semesters at Music Together of Northern Arizona are 10-12 week sessions of locally-taught 45-minute in-person classes, (This coming semester will include indoors classes on Wednesday mornings at the Continental Country Club Clubhouse, Wednesday evening classes at the Flagstaff Birth Collective, and Saturday afternoon classes at the Flagstaff Birth Collective. To help families who cannot make it to every week’s classes in person, we also now include 8 on-demand video classes with each semester’s enrollment as well. The more families play with the music and sing and dance at home, in between weekly classes, the more valuable the experience will be for the child.
Q: How many semesters of new song collections and content are possible for one child to experience in early childhood?
All semester’s songs and curricula are developed at their Princeton-based lab school.
A: There are 12 total semesters that Music Together cycles through completely every 3 years, and each semester’s collection of songs is named after a different musical instrument. There is a huge variety of music, specially recorded and developed at Music Together’s Princeton Lab school, where Music Together has been a leader in early childhood music education and research since 1987! There are an average of 25-30 songs per collection. By the time a child has come “full circle” through 3 years of Music Together (9-12 semesters), they have learned and played with around 500 songs!
Q: If we sign up for one semester, is there any obligation to continue for the next semester, and the next? am I committing to more than just one 10-12 week series of classes here?
A: No, there’s no obligation! BUT – there will always be more class series here for you, and there is such a tremendous benefit to children being enrolled for multiple semesters and years that you’ll probably want to keep coming! We have so many “alumni” families that have come to treasure and celebrate the strong, fun musical foundation that Music Together has given them, along with assuring their children’s development of what we call “BMC” – “Basic Music Competency.” – this musical foundation is strengthened every time you come to class.
