A few more FAQs answered about the membership program for you:

Q: Is this a “better deal” than enrolling one semester at a time?

A: Yes. This monthly price is less than our stand-alone semester price of $250 per semester for a family. Currently, this $55/ month option ensures you can lock in a rate equivalent to $165 per semester. The monthly membership model of enrollment, in turn, helps MTNAZ know how many sets of materials, access codes and songbooks to order each semester, so you never have to worry about missing an enrollment period! Every semester, your songbooks, music access codes, and weekly classes will be there for you, automatically.

Q. What if I find that we need to cancel?

A. No problem. This is a fully flexible, risk-free monthly program, meaning there is no penalty or cancellation fees for stopping your membership at anytime. You will simply keep all the materials, songbooks, access codes etc for all the semesters that you have been with us, and we’ll miss you dearly. Just FYI, you also have the option to pause your membership, or to adjust your membership by changing levels at any time. Just email me and we’ll make it happen for you.

Q. I’ve got two children under 5 yrs old. Can they both come to weekly classes?

A. Yes. With the VIP Gold-level of membership, your sibling fees are included- as long as your children are under 6, you may continue to bring up to 2 siblings to class. If your child is 5 or older, your older child will “age out” of our mixed age in-person classes. After age 6, they need a different class, and their attendance in mixed age classes will become a distraction to the younger children, so we request that you begin planning next steps for their continuing music education. We will refer to our preferred local Suzuki piano and violin teachers, and also advise that your older child enroll in a separate Music Together Rhythm Kids class.

There are of course exceptions to this older siblings policy: perhaps you have a 6-12 year old who has the day off school and they’d like to come to class. This is often absolutely fine! In this circumstance, we just ask that you get in touch to obtain individual permission from Ms. Laura to attend class with their younger sibling.

Q. What if I miss a week or am going to be out of town for a stretch?

A. Because Music Together requires a minimum of 8 weekly classes containing 45 minutes of instruction for every enrolled family receiving the semester’s materials, I am supplementing each semester’s resources with 8 prerecorded video classes that you will have access to in addition to the weekly in-person classes offered in Flagstaff. So the easiest thing to do, if you’re out of town but want to ensure that your child’s music development doesn’t have to take a break, is to keep playing with the music, the app, the songbook, and the Family Music Zone often, on your own best schedules.

You can also now use the 8 on-demand video classes and go through a video class together on your own schedules. The beauty of Music Together is that, as an early childhood music education program, the most powerful learning actually happens with you, at home, in between the weekly group classes. The weekly in-person classes are like the icing on the cake, really, in terms of how much benefit you can get from simply being enrolled in the program and enjoying the song collections with your own family. As a fellow Music Together center director put it in a recent directors’ meeting, “Even a completely virtual experience with a semester of Music Together is worth a lot more than most other music programs out there!” – and that’s very true, I feel.

If you find you are away from in-person group classes a lot, be sure to take time to go through the video classes and play with the app, music, songbook and Family Music Zone as much as you can at home! Your child can still get the best music development and education experience available to them in the world today!

You do always have the option of ending your monthly membership, or pausing your monthly membership, too, and if you need to go this route we understand! Email Laura at NAZMusicTogether@gmail.com to determine how pausing your membership may impact your receipt of an upcoming song collection. We can advise you regarding when to un-pause in order to have enough materials credits to keep receiving all the songbooks.

Q: How soon after I enroll will I receive our family’s first songbook, CD and access codes?

A: As soon as I can get them to you. If you’re enrolling and then attending in person classes the same week, I sometimes have songbooks and materials on hand that I can simply bring to class for you. If I don’t have songbooks for you (if you join in the middle of a semester this is sometimes the case), then I’ll order your materials the same day that you enroll. Usually they’ll arrive within the same week. If for any reason you find that you are unable to attend in person classes the same week that you enroll, that’s ok too! You can email or message me and we will arrange to either deliver or mail your materials to you. I can often send you a photo of your individual access code the same day that you enroll, meaning that you’ll be able to get your new Music Together song collection playing right away on the app and family music zone. Go ahead and find the HelloEverybody app on your favorite app store and download it asap – you’ll get 8 preloaded welcome songs when you get the app – and then you’ll unlock a 25-30 track new collection to add to your music library each semester. You’ll also get a few enrollment gifts when you sign up – like our Music Together Musical Development Growth Chart, and our welcome book – Music And Your Child.

Q: Can other grownups attend class with my child?

A: Yes! As long as your child is with a grownup who is participating and playing along with your child in class, you’re good. We have families whose children attend with a nanny and this is fine. We have families who are lucky enough to have two attending grownups in class with their child and this is absolutely fine too! If you ever have grandparents who want to come to class, or aunties, uncles, or other family and friends visiting you, I can usually accommodate. The more grownups participating in class the better! If your regular in person class feels like it’s a bit full, you can always email me to check if it’s ok for you to bring extra guests to class. But every child can attend with two grownups and possibly more for each in person class.
