Over 95% of all human babies have the ability to develop “Basic Music Competence” – IF they are exposed to research based early childhood Music and Movement programs like Music Together consistently between ages 0-5.
After age 5, the window begins to narrow, and closes completely around age 9.
Basic Music Competence – the ability to become “musical,” singing in tune, keeping a beat, etc, is essentially available to EVERY CHILD. It’s just as available as language learning, and should really be considered a human right!
Without established Basic Music Competence, learning secondary instruments later in childhood is incredibly HARD. With the foundation of Basic Music Competence, learning more instruments becomes EASY. It’s really that simple, and there’s a lot of research to back this up.
Music Together Worldwide has been researching Early Childhood Musical development since 1987, and has licensed over 3000 centers all over the world. Their program and curriculum is research based and the world’s leading early childhood music education program.
Sadly, there are so many families who simply cannot afford to enroll in a typical semester of Music Together classes for their babies and toddlers, even though developing Basic Music Competence should be a birthright.
Here in Northern Arizona, a full 19.4% of families lived at or below poverty level in 2023.
Music Together of Northern Arizona wants to give them scholarships so that they can come to class too – after all, they are ALL capable of becoming musical beings, and musical learning supports ALL learning.
Help us make scholarships available to low income families in Northern Arizona by donating today:
A $50 donation will get a family six award-winning 45-minute classes. ($50 = 6 classes)
A $250 donation will get FIVE families to six classes each. ($250 = 30 classes)
A $500 donation will get TEN families to six award winning classes each. ($500 = 60 classes)
– Many thanks for supporting babies and toddlers realizing their BIRTHRIGHT to musical learning!
In sincere gratitude,
Laura Brown
